Friends of Wild River is a group of volunteers who love Wild River and want to protect its natural beauty through Wilderness designation. We envision a Wild River Valley that is forever wild. Designating this special place as wilderness will allow the forest’s ecology to flourish, and it will guarantee that future generations can enjoy the Wild River Valley’s tranquility for years to come.

We work with these organizations to convince the Forest Service as well as Congress that the 2% of wilderness in New Hampshire is not enough. We believe that the Wild River Valley deserves special attention for its unique collection of wildlife and incredible vistas. It is our objective to protect these lands forever from logging, road-building, new mining claims, and motorized uses.
